700 years of Revell history - Genealogy.com
I am the current owner of Revell Grange, a house near Sheffield, England, once the family home of the Revell line. The house dates from around 1495, and was substantially altered to its present appearance in the early 18th century. It has a significant place in the religious history of northern England due to its Catholic connections. The last Revell descendant to live in the house died in 1954.

5) ' (B) John Revell of Newbold-Revel had seven not six children: Margaret, John, Sir William, Nicholas, Helen (Ellen), Joan and Agnes.' I have good documentation for three sons, John, William and Nicholas, and three daughters Margaret, Joan and Elena.I suspect Agnes might be a more distant relation by marriage.

A book published in 1910, "Ely, Revell and Stacye Families" found no definitive link between George Ely, Mansfield, and Uttersby Manor, although the book contains information on that family that includes a "George Ely."I'd be interested if any records exist on the Internet that would extend the family tree back in England.
